Lifelong problems

January 5, 2019 - Leave a Comment

I have a problem with procrastination that I’ve always had, at least since primary school.

As a result of this I’ve become exceptionally well at organising tasks and projects. I’ve become a student of productivity.

On a good day, I can be highly productive. But on a bad day I still have the same issues I always had.

On those days it feels like a trap I can’t get out of. I’ll never be rid of this problem I have

Some of our issues we can never resolve fully. They come up when we are tired or are being challenged somewhere in our lives.

But then I realise it happens less and less over time. And it lasts less often everytime it does. And I remember to forgive myself.

So we watch ourselves going through our patterns and cycles. And, with awareness, they run out of steam sooner each time.

“When we are tired, we are attacked by ideas we conquered long ago.”

Simplicity

January 3, 2019 - Leave a Comment

I’ve recently stopped looking at internet feeds. Feeds like those on Facebook or YouTube where it is constantly suggesting new content to watch and read.

Like junk food makers, there is an incentive to hijack the brain with by providing more and more stimulation. It can be seen with clickbait headlines.

If you stay away from all that your brain is able to return to simplicity, and get enjoyment from everyday life. Hyperstimulation makes everything else bland.

This way I can be entertained by the smallest of things, rather than only the most stimulating.

Welcome/First Post

January 2, 2019 - 2 Comments

I’m not yet sure what this blog will be, perhaps a collection of my theories on how life works.

I am imaging looking back on this post with embarrassment on how bad my writing was ‘back then’.  Even more likely I will stop posting after a week or so.

I’ve started several blogs before under the illusion that I would somehow turn my musing into cash.  Back in the days when it wasn’t so obvious that blogs were not, in fact, instant cash machines.  I was writing for the wrong reasons.

Now many years later I still have some urge to do some writing, so perhaps this time it will last longer than 3 posts.  It is yet to be seen.

Anywho, happy new year!  Hope 2019 was a good year for you!

Cheers,
Nathan
